hi folks, just looking for insight on how to tweak my newly built system. What would you guys do if you were in my shoes. here's my list of hardware

Motherboard :EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 N680i SLI
Processor :INTEL|C2Q Q6600 2.40G
Memory: CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF
Video Card :EVGA 8800ULTRA
Hard Drive # 1: WD1500ADFD HD 150G|WD 10KRPM 16M SATA
Hard Drive # 2: WD1500ADFD HD 150G|WD 10KRPM 16M SATA
Optical Drive # 1 :HP DVD 840
Power Supply: Pc Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad

you could probably save a good amount of $ by jst getting the 8800gtx and overclocking it. Also are the raptors going to be in Raid 0? If you are using one for storage i would just get a 74 Gb raptor for the OS and apps and then a SATA 3 Gb/s 7200 rpm drive for storage, much cheaper and you won't notice the difference unless you are saving, accessing, etc. emmense (like 4Gb+) files.

hard drives will be raid 0. already have all the parts. just waiting on the power supply then the tweaking begins.

Thats cooling is poor. I have that for my PC and it is still 54 C and my PC is a piece of s***.

Get watercooling or if you don't want that......

Get either a Tuniq Tower or Thermalright Extreme 120...

For that beast of a rig a Zalman 9500 is incredibly stupid to put on it.

That cooler is fine for now, though there are better out there. FatBloke is right about some things, and given the budget you could have done better cooling wise, but Zalman coolers work fine as long as you know how to install them.

i want to see what kind of temps i get first then move on from there. i have 2 fans in the front 1 in the back then will be placing 1 on top in the future if it's still not sufficient.

decided to go with a cooler master stacker 830 temps are stable at 48C cpu and 36c for system. selling my wave master case on craigslist.
