is 500W high for a powersupply? I honestly dont know...

the case i wanna get has a 500W and has 4 or 5 fans (2 120mms...and 2 or 3 80mms) im assuming thats pretty good...but i dont wanna buy something and have it explode on me when i put it together
Im putting a 2.4ghz amd processor
2gb ram
500gb 7200rpm hard drive
nvidia 8500gt 512mb video card

and the case has some LED lights too...

NEVER use a case supplied power supply, unless as a secondary for a wc pump or something.

What brand of case, and what does the PSU have in terms of amps on the +12V rail(s)? 90% of PSU's that come with cases should be thrown away, or at least not used for overclocking. Some are OK though, like Antec cases.

Also some A-Open cases with L&C PSU's. They are actually decent PSU's and held up an x850xt system of mine for a few years stable.
