Wow talk about too much un needed info.

Next time just say you have a Sempron 3000 and a A7V8X-LA and want to put in a Sempron 3300


Yes it should have no problems running a Sempron 3300, however why would you spend the money on a 3300 it's only a slight performance boost. Your money would be better spent on say an Athlon Socket 939 CPU and motherboard.

Well since this is a Compaq... I was wondering if the BIOS was locked from using any other CPU than Stock... I attempted to install a 2700+ Athlon XP 2.15 GHz and it did not boot... So Proprietary?
