Yeah, I've been mulling over their recommendation for awhile now.
The only thing I can think of is the CPU exhaust would blow directly on the mosfet fan, maybe adding unwanted heat.

@ Cuz Do you plan on overclocking?

its free, and definately wont hurt. so unless you can do something better with it, just put it on.

Everest Ultimate > coretemp. IMHO. they both report the same temps for CPU, but everest also displays GPU, HDD, Mobo, etc temps, all volts, fan speeds, etc. and has a vista sidebar utility.
i run it 24/7.
