Questions/Answers Upcoming Intel Stuff

Thread Starter
I will post a list of questions I have come up with and I will edit this first post to reflect the answers, some fairly confusing stuff to me anyways because its been about 2 years since I built last.

-What is the difference between 1066fsb and 1333fsb?
I believe all Intels have a true multiplier for the fsb set at 4x (similar to HT on AMD). 1066fsb cpus actually use 266mhz ram (DDR2 533) where 1333fsb actually uses 333mhz ram (DDR2 667). Performance increase is minimal as stated here. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...spx?i=3012&p=2

-What are the prices of the upcoming price drop/new release?
I need help here... $266 - q6600, e6850 $183 - e8750 I believe these prices are per 1000, any speculation on actual cost?

-P965, 975, P35, X35, 650i, 680i
What is the best chipset right now, and what is coming in the near future and when?

-SPECULATION: When is Penryn actually coming?
When? Worth the wait? Dual and Quad cores?

-Which will overclock better e6750 vs q6600
The debate here is buying DDR2 800 ram and a q6600 or DDR2 1066 and an e6750. Anand reached 3,68ghz on stock voltage with stock fan on the new 6750, due to the 8x multiplier faster ram is needed for better overclocks. The q6600 has a 9x multiplier and SHOULD overclock more, but a quick browse around the net shows an average of around 3ghz for these processors. What is your take on this?

Thats all I can think of for now, I think there was more questions, me and a friend are both building mid/late august and he had me up till almost 1:00AM research this crap when I had to get up at 5:45.

may i also add to the questions about pricing, what will be the pricing of the components in question in GBP?

from what i've read, currently (pre-x38) p35 is the best chipset for non-SLi computers, and 680i for SLi setups.
but i think (and hope) x38 will be worth the wait and be the best in chipset market during the end of 2007

pricing is the second question, I dont know for sure what they are. Ive been trying to find that chart that shows them and just post that.

When is the x35 suppose to come out?

People say when the new CPU pricing comes out, others say end of August and others say at the end of September... no true release date yet I think..

Also I would also like to know the new pricing's in GDP.

One more thing maybe to help people, the Q6600 and other CPU's will not be $266 at first! They will be a much higher price as the demand will be phenomenal for them, wait 1 or 2 months to get them at a good price I think..
