Im definately getting the 7900gs now. I have $70 in amazon.com gift cards so its going to end up being around $120. Im getting this to replace a burned up geforce 6800 AGP card so im hoping i see a good improvement. I agree the ATi perform good but Ive had to many bad experiences with them flaking overtime and they never seem to like to play right with overclocked cpus.

it's not that ATi is bad, it's just that the 1800 series wasn't their best effort. for the money, i would personally take a 1950 Pro over any of the nVidia cards listed. but that wasn't one of the options in this particular thread.

The X1800 was never anything special, but as I mentioned in my previous post the X1950XT on the other hand......

Would the AGP version of the ATI card still fair better than a 7900GS AGP? I need a good card to replace my burned out card and Im pretty sure th PCi-e versions differ from the AGP versions. I wouldnt mind getting the ATI card but have had bad experiences with ATI cards so I dont know.

i don't think the 1800 XT was bad, but i'm pretty sure it got beat by even the 1950 Pro. of course the 1950 XT trumps all.
