Possible to use two psu's?

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about buying a cheaper psu to have one that only powers my gfx card and one that only powers my computer components. The new one being the one to power the gfx card. Is it a good idea? Will it work?

I thought about doing the same thing actually. Using like a 350 watt from my old -old pc into the new one.

If the rail fits for the card on the psu then sure why not.

I don't know how your going to fit another psu in your case though.

Simple answer is that it'll work, and some have done it. Bad news is, I don't know how to do it.

I don't need it to fit in the case, so that's not an issue.

It's easy enough. You just have to figure out a way to "fix" the mobo connector. If you google around, you'll probably find a way to fix it. It involves connecting the green wire from both mobo connections to the board.
