um....alright? haha. OR...we can just do that without the wii. it might actually be more fun

the board sounds like a good concept on paper, yet actually implimenting it out to consumers...not so much. you can definitely see that Nintendo is trying real hard to broaden the spectrum of it's target audience. either way though, it's gonna be a long time before they'll get me to stand up to play video games. now if they end up using this full motion sensing thing for a zelda release in 2010...thats a whole 'nother story my friends

Quite a few analysts seem to think this is going to be the Next Big Thing for the Wii. I think it will earn a little more credit than it has been given in this thread so far, but I don't see it having much lasting appeal. It's basically going to be a gimmicky thing, like EyeToy or a DDR dance pad. Fun for a while maybe, but once the novelty wears off it will seem silly.

Now, I wonder what ELSE they can use that floor pad for, though? Can you imagine a Tony Hawk or SSX game where you're using the floor pad as your skateboard / snowboard? Now that might be pretty darn cool.

(At least for the price of the lift tickets...and how long I would actually be boarding)

If you can download the e3 conference from nintendo, you will agree with me, it was so dumb

Anybody remember the runpad that nintendo produced Track&Field? That was maybe the most fun I've ever had gaming, now if they're making an updated version that acutally works, my knuckles are goin' white waiting for this bad mammajamma. The great thing I find about the Wii is that everybody looks like an f'ing moron using it, but everybody's having too much fun to care.

the way I understood it, the pad is for wiifit, and that is its application, that is all, not as a snowboard, not as a DDR pad, not as a new track and field, as an exercise machine.

Special controllers or attachments like this usually are relegated to a single game. Think bongo drums in Donkey Conga. However, that's usually the case because the game itself doesn't generate enough attention to warrant further uses of the controller. Developers see lame sales of Donkey Konga, and blame it at least partially on the "stupid controller".

But when a gimmick controller works, more games will follow. Think of the Zapper for Duck Hunt. The light gun was used for many more games because everyone loved Duck Hunt. Think of dance pads, and the zillions of DDR clones that all can use them.

So if Wii-Fit takes off, you can bet on their being many more games that can use the board. If it does not take off, then there won't be any more games because there won't be an installed base of board owners to cater to.
