HAHAHAHA WiiFit - Page 4

But when a gimmick controller works, more games will follow. Think of the Zapper for Duck Hunt. The light gun was used for many more games because everyone loved Duck Hunt. Think of dance pads, and the zillions of DDR clones that all can use them.

So if Wii-Fit takes off, you can bet on their being many more games that can use the board. If it does not take off, then there won't be any more games because there won't be an installed base of board owners to cater to.
Well, the light gun is a useful controller to games. Two drums aren't very helpful in most games.

But...look at her, folks. She's not a gamer. She's some housewife.

What it seems that every one of the WiiFit haters are failing to realize or acknowledge, perhaps intentionally or out of some sense of gamer elitism, is that this is not for you. It's primarily for non-gamers. And because of this strategy, Nintendo is the only console maker showing a shred of business sense: expand your market into previously unreachable customer bases.

I absolutely guarantee that WiiFit is going to sell like a mo-fo, even as stupid as it looks to most of us. "Hardcore gamers" ( ) can snicker all they want, but this is just another reason why Nintendo is going to win this console generation: they are selling to everyone, not just established gamers.

I'm gonna buy it regardless (thank you gamestop employee discount ). Maybe the target audience will be for housewives or fat people, who knows. I didn't buy the wii because of titles like previous console purchases. I bought it for it's innovation. If it bombs, oh well; at least I have a handy scale at the end of the day.
