Will Apple have New Macbook Pro's in October?

Need a laptop for college, and don't want to buy a macbook pro today if they will have a brand new operating system and new hardware in October. However, I would be willing to buy leopard for $129 if I knew they weren't upgrading the hardware. I know it is just rumors and predictions, but does anyone have an idea what will happen in October? Thanks.

Well, since you list Leopard for $129, you probably aren't thinking of getting the Education discount ($100 off MBs, $200 off MBPs, $50 off OS X).

October is halfway through the first semester. I don't think hardware can get much better for the MBP. I have no idea what October will bring. I'm going to order a MB myself in a few days once I get some things straightened out...

Well, this is a stupid prediction, and just an idea, but if your going for the MacBook Pro, after the manufacturing prices sinks low they could possibly include Q6XXX models in them?

Or would those run too hot for laptops? I am a bit of an Apple enthusiast and I do agree, they do upgrade their stuff like crazy. A bit annoying since everything is always intertwined.

I doubt we'll be seeing another hardware upgrade in October because the MBP's were just updated not too long ago. If you really want the new MBP, I'd get one before school starts to make sure you find any problems with the hardware. You wouldn't want to purchase your notebook right when school starts and fail on you when you need it the most right?

Well since your a college student just figure your probably going to be using it mostly for basics. Since they just upgraded the MBP I say go for it now and then you can decide, if they upgrade, what you should get. Keep in mind student discounts =)

Im getting my MacBook Pro tomorrow and I have doubts that new hardware will be implemented into their new MacBooks by October just for the leopard release.
So since Apple just released their new MacBook and MacBook Pros with new hardware. I would say no, or very unlikely.

I heard that they were going to update the MBP in October with maybe a touch screen LCD. I don't think that was offical, but I'll try to find the source for it. It'd be cool if they did. But remember that when ever Apple releases updated hardware, they always seem to have some bugs, so its probably best to just get one now.
