Microsoft have done so much but people don't realise. Some of their business practices have been a little "aggressive", but Google are doing the same but are loved.
Mac also have bad habbits but people seem to turn away from them and continue to love them unconditionally.
I do private work in my spare time fixing computers, and to be honest, 90% is down to hardware and/or user error. I have told a few of them about Linux giving them all the facts and they all said they would rather pay the money for Windows. It has the support from the industry and is easy to use.
QFT. Also imagine making an OS that will work with just about any hardware configuration? Can Mac say that? No. Linux almost as good as MSFT with the compatibility. You guys seem to forget that Microsoft is a business and they are in it to make money. They aren't in it to please you, but they are trying to make a product that a majority of people will enjoy and like. Now all of my friends who are computer illiterate looove Vista. They think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Us overclockers are a small minority. Vista and XP are awesome operating systems and their Office Suite is the best in it's class by a longshot. They make great products and I really think they are doing a good job.
Also at the people who don't like WGA, go buy a legit copy. I've NEVER had an issue on any of my computers or friends computers who have legitimate copys of XP. It's people like you who are the reason why MSFT implemented WGA, the more you crack, the more they'll want to stop you.
