Hmm, I haven't heard of this problem before, you could try making it into a bootable floppy as it appears you have tried most other things? Maybe give M$soft a call.

Well the floopy doesnt need to be bootable....from what I know as I can acces the files just fine within the Vista setup. I could always give it a go though.

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Its definately a 64bit disk?

If it is, just try the 32bit drivers. It may work and if it doesn't the worse thing that will happen will be that your back to square 1.

Yes its definately 64bit. I have already tried 32bit drivers lol and they will only get you so far as I originally thought.

Edit*

I also tried running RAID and using some raid drivers. However that didnt work to great for me either.

With all the drivers listed on this page one must work : http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...ctid=2&osid=10&

This leads me to beleive I must be doing something wrong when placing the files onto the floppy disk !.

I can get 32bit installed just fine but 64 is evading me big time.

Yeah I did give that one ago when trying RAID5. After I loaded it in even after stating it was compatible it still requested another driver. Im going to drive a screwdriver into my ear soon.

Yes in the BIOS I have my controller enabled and set to ''SATA''. Thats all I need to do in the BIOS on this particular controller.

The Drivers I have been getting which are said to be compatible with my controller are not agreeing with vista as it states that the driver is not compatible with my hardware....One is very lost. I see people installing 64bit fine but for me its getting very tiresome.
Wow that is a real stumper.

I had no idea there could be a controller not already on Vista.

So what you need is motherboard that is Vista 64 bit comaptible.

I do not suppose you have Vista 32 bit you could try.

I have a feeling that your mobo ma not be supported.

Have you tried to check it or cross refence it to see if it is indeed Vista compatible?

I am a complete n00b at Vista--i just installed it a few days ago and it was as simple as putting in the disk...it saw my RAID controller and everything...no drivers needed.

I have no clue what ou could do to get the drivers to recognize...but peerhaps ou could somehow add a file to the actual install.'

I have heard from a few memebrs about how to slistream drivers into XP and I imagine yyou would be able to do so with Vista--actually insert the driver file into the installation disk...

Just a thought...I have not done it and really am not being a lot of help here.

Cheers CD. Well Vista 32bit runs fine. I have been running Vista for ages now and still for 32bit I did have to get a driver for my controller but that was very simple. It just seems that 64bit is being lame. For now ive gone back to vista 32 and will explore 64bit later.
