Water additive i use....

Thread Starter
ive been reading posts about guys wondering what to use in there water setup, well, i have a suggestion, ive had a water system in various systems for 5+ years, and i change my water once a year at best. i think on my last 2400+ mobile athlon the water stayed in the loop for 2 years.... on my last build, i inspected my blocks, and found absolutely no fungus/corrosion at all, there 100% clean.

i use plain distilled water, and an additive for fish tanks called "Fung-Off", i add about 10 drops to my res after its bled, on a plus, it turns the water a slight green, and is UV reactive, too boot! it keeps the water 100% clean and free of fungal/algae growth! i just thought id share this, as no special expensive watter additives are neccessary.....

hope this helps someone out.

well pt nuke is a biocide, I suppose kills more than just fungus, judging by the name, all life (bio).

and its only $2.50 for a small bottle that will probably last quite a while. The good thing is it's copper based and thus works well for all the copper water blocks.

How much of that stuff is recommended for a regular fish tank? Lol, I'd hate to see a fish tank as empty as your water loop .

well, uh, i dont think it comes in red....

here is a crappy picture. i only have about 8 drops in the system right now. and you cant see the uv reactivity due to the camera flash. ;-)

my temps are right now, cpu 36c/core0-30c/core1-27c

and my oc is currently 3.5, not 3.6 as in my system details, i have been trying to get the corevolts as low as i can, i needed 1.525 for 3.6, and i can get away with 1.425 for 3.5 :-)

notice my ghetto ram coolers? 2 old cpu HS fans i had laying around, attached with double sided sticky tape.
