AM2 Build Log

Thread Starter
A friend of my fiancee was interested in a decent desktop computer for around $400. So, I promptly set to work on NewEgg and added up these components plus a case. Tell me what you all think.

ASUS M2NPV-VM Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - Retail

Rosewill TU-155 Black Steel ATX Black 0.8mm SGCC Steel Mid Tower Computer Case 400W(20+4 pin) Power Supply - Retail

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

I know the PSU is a bit weak, but she won't be doing anything too intensive and with an onboard GPU 400W should be plenty.

Fire away!

Nice budget built. Anyhow I think that you would save much money on her electrisity bill by getting a better PSU -long term investment-.

RAIDMAX xB ATX-528B Black Computer Case
& SeaSonic S12-330 ATX12V 330W Power Supply

You really got a good overview on PCs today.
Cheers
