Well, you should be able to play Crysis on that resolution with a decent FPS and on high settings, but I can't really tell you if it's enough for 2008's DX10 games. You sure will be able to play it on high and etc but maybe on a slightly lower resolution.
I hope I helped you a bit with this.

Well...At the moment the GTX is one of the fastest cards out there so what you get in DX10 games is what you will get!

You can wait until DX10 games come out... so you can hear opinions...
Also 8800 is the first generation of DX10... they can be powerfull... but is not the BEST... just wait a little more..

Well, if you don't want to wait with your upcoming build till the new series of graphic cards arrive. Then I should go for a 8800GTS 320MB, so you can max out all of the games at this moment and then later when the newest series come out you buy one of those.

I would get something like a 7600GT so you can at least play games like Counter-Strike: Source and Battlefield for now, then, I would get an nVidia 9-Series Flagship (9900Ultra... )

Whatever it is, make it eVGA.

Personally? I would have waited until the x38's and sli'd price cut cards. But seeing as you already ordered a mobo, i'd just go with whatever is comfortably in your budget, and step up if you want to. But i wouldn't be killing my wallet and banking on a future proof card.

Dx10 is still in the dark for us here. Its supposed to make cards work more effeciently, but so far we've seen complete pooter bench marks.
