You: OMG I'VE BEEN HAXED!!!
They will test. And they will find out.

Newegg doesn't have a single technician or engineer and doesn't test any product ever. If any testing is claimed or needed to be done, it was done by the original manufacturer.

most of the open-box items are UNTESTED... that's why you're getting them for less... it's cheaper to offer returned items for less, then to test everything that isn't a "defective return"

in-fact... i don't think there's a single thing that Newegg tests themselves... it's all straight from the manufacturer... to the vendor... to you.

Thread Starter
How did this conversation get into newegg, lol....i'm buying from NCIX (i'm in canada), but they said that they test all open box items, and said that at most it might be missing the box but that all of the item should be there, i'm gonna do it, no rush for my rig in the case of part failure.......the only problem is that the store is 5173 kilometers from my house so it would be like a 3 week wait for the new part.

a risk i'm willing to to take, thanks for the input

EDIT: shipping for ram, psu, mobo is only $21 total, which is 1/3 what i'd pay if i ordered from the us....one store wanted 79.99 for shipping on the PSU ALONE, that's why this distance isint a problem.

i have an open box videocard from them and it works perfectly but i wanna hear if anyone has any horror stories about open boxed items before i get 2 more ob things. Share away!

(they have a 30 day warranty from the seller, and keep the manufacturer's warranty BTW)

Thoughts?
I bought an Asus M2N-E SLi on open box deal for around 40$ cheaper than the retail version, and it runs great, even came with all cords, discs, manuals, stickers, etc.

Most of the times Open Box mobos dont come with accessories but if you get luck you might just get some, my main problem is the I/O shield.
