Ultra X3 1000w question

Thread Starter
Hey,

I am looking into a modular psu. I currenly have a Tagan 900w TurboJet psu which is a very solid psu. But the cables that you do not use are driving me crazy, so many of them just to hide. So I see they have this new Ultra X3 1000w with this FLEX FORCE cables? I am looking for my new build to hide under the mobo. I am looking for the steath look on my new build. I see they came out with a 600w, 800, 1000, and 1600w version of the X3. I see the 800w version in more then the 1000w version? Maybe new I guess.
Just wondering if this is a good psu? And if the FLEX FORCE cables flex well?
Thanks

The cables are very flexible (I've even folded them in half before just to see). They generally will stay where you bend them, though like any cable they may need some convincing to stay in certain positions. They are very thin as well so they fit nicely behind a motherboard or routed behind the motherboard tray itself.

The PSU is rated very well on many sites, including Jonny Guru. It is also much quieter than my old PC P&C 1kW.

Also, if you do get an X3, don't forget to register for the lifetime warranty!

The flex force cable is a very nice concept. I think I still prefer the sleeved (braided) regular cables as apposed to plastic (cheap, IMO) cables. But they do flex well and can fit into tight spaces. And if I have any showing, I'd prefer them to be sleeved black.

The only cable that looks better sleeved than in its force-flex incarnation is the 24-pin motherboard connector. Everything else is better as force-flex, and the cables are black which helps match the outside of my case, too. The cables are not plastic, so I'm not quite sure what you are talking about with that comment...
