£450. Build Me A Rig!

Thread Starter
Hey guys I've been through it in my mind and I'd just like to know what system you guys think I should build for my brother.

I already have: 8800GTS 640MB, 2GB of G.Skill HK's and an NZXT Lexa Case.

He'll be playing alot of games And I'll obviously be pushing this rig ..so some good overclocking stuff would be lovely He wants Intel. Core 2 Duo I think is within the price range.

As the title says, £450 to spend. From a UK site please. Such as: www.overclockers.co.uk, www.scan.co.uk, www.aria.co.uk .. bla di bla .. froogle.co.uk

This would mean alot to me and most certainly some REP+ in it for whoever helps me out greatly.

Thanks in advance
-Derek

I love that DFI! It looks sexual. 1333FSB for the E6550. I must admit, that looks like it's going to be one hell of a processor.

Has anybody heard anything about it? The E6550?

ok this is what i think
reason being no need for such an expensive board..i bet the gigabyte will overclock just aswell as the DFI..also 2 seagate perp drives for raid..i chose the enermax liberty because i heard the OCZ have serious ripple issues..a tuniq tower to cool that C2d so you get that nice overclock..and you didnt state whether he has an optical drive, so i threw in a samsung SATA litescribe multiformat dvd drive and you have like £7 spare to get that so needed haircut!.

I don't need the CPU cooler and DVD drive mate. You can rearrange it to compensate and get some better quality stuff Looking for some more processing power, though. Something above the 2Ghz mark.

well in that case, minus the cooler and drive, replace the E6320 with the E6550 and keep the 2 drives for raid....you dont HAVE to spend the full £450.

The motherboard should do 450fsb according to this thread, I don't know if it will be enough or not?

I'll check some more sites too.
