£450. Build Me A Rig! - Page 2

Ok,

P5N32-E : £90 (see if you can get him to lower the price a bit, you can get them new for £120)
OCZ GameXstream 700w - £82.24
Hitachi 250gb - £38.76
Q6600 - £234.99

Total with postage: £456.61

You might want to change the power supply and hard drive(s), but I would definitly get the Q6600 and use whatever money left from that.

Agree, something like that sounds good, but the quad core is a must. Are prices dropping soon?

I don't think there will be many significant price drops until AMD releases Barcelona, or Intel releases Penryn (just my opinion there - they might cut prices soon without much notice). PSU prices seem to be solid since January, they have risen if anything. Hard drives are cheap anyway, not much point wating for those to drop in price.

Large price drop on July 22nd, if you can hold off till then that would be good.

I would say Q6600 then, 2x300gb hard drives in raid 0, Asus P5K Deluxe, PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W Power Supply...that should squeeze into your budget.

Lol, an E6600 is still an AMAZING processor. If I ever build a second system (for my second monitor) you better believe I'll be putting in a E6600 and G. Skill Ram.
