Wow that's some rig there.

According to Vista spec 64 Bit Ultimate supports it too. Unless you mean specifically the Quad Channel feature...

Any OS should support it. It's a hardware function like dual-channel.

Windows movie maker isn't the best but when I uploaded a 47GB video (uncompressed video) it took 1GB out of 1.5GB my ram just to load than I wanted to add other video's that where around 100MB ea, but I didn't have the memory . So I just tried to upload the video's but the program would crash after it would hit 1400MB's

When using a real OS (OS X, Linux), you will use all your RAM even 30 seconds after boot.

I have 1GB left on this box. Running Adium and Safari.

Something tells me OS X handles it quite well. Your rig really makes me wish someone would brighten up and offer a dual socket Core 2 board. I'd love to have a faux 8-Core Q6600 box man.

=(

I'll try to buy the memory tomorrow at work when she can't stop me.

If they could make a dual conroe board, they would. The chip need to support parallel processors. Same reason you can't run a bunch of 165's in a multi-chip board.

8GB for the most part is unnecessary. Do it for the e-peen extension, not the performance gains.

Agreed. Another member brought up a good point: Why are they marketing this toward gamers? Are gamers really that silly?

The LED's are a huge turn-off, the prospect of the bandwidth for creative apps is great.
