see my point? nVidia has had the top card for less than a year now and people are talking like ATi has gone out of business. these first generation DX10 cards haven't even been put to the test yet - it's possible that none of them will be competent DX10 cards.
What are you doing w/ logic like that!?
guards! sieze him

top dog might not be quite the right description but those cards did perform the best out of ea. gen, but price wise there was some tough competition. the 6800 had sm3.0 but couldn't perform like the x850XTPE could, even oc'd.

I am talking about the newer cards.... Ie. the 7900 series upwards.....

The 7950GT was a monster card which out did most of ATI's cards at stock settings.

My point is that even though ATI are making cards which eat modern games... they have fallen behind a little bit when releasing their DX10 models.

Nvidia did it ages ago.... ATI did it now. Nvidia are nearly onto the next card which will once again most probably put them at the top of the market.

Don't get me wrong but ATI still pump out some incredible cards but slower than Nvidia are doing so.

if ATi can pull off the same thing they did w/ the x1800XT(X) then we're good. except for the ppl that already have a hd2900 :/

the x1800 could just barely beat teh 7800GTX and came late to the party. then tehy released the x1900 which blew it all away. then the x1950XTX to compete w/ the new 7900GTX and the 1950 beat it. so... yea u see what i'm talking about? although i'm afraid that ATi is far too late to teh party this time to compete w/in this same gen. I think the next dx10 cards are going to be a small revoloution by itself...

Yeah.. We need to see what DX10 can really do then ATI may just release a mindblowing card and then it would be Nvidia's turn to steal back the lime light.

ATI/AMD really could use a big win right about now. they aren't looking their best right now :/

I think teh phenoms will help, but i think it'll make for another price war and not so much a performance war.

well i heard the next nv card is going to be a 9800GTX w/ twice the power of an 8800ultra which makes sence considering the 7800GTX was almost 2 times more powerful than a 6800gt/u... that much processing power will be epic tho. think of the possibilities for F@H.... anyway... we're rootign for ya ATI
