Loop Re-Configuration

ive been wondering.....i have my loop ran...pump>rad>cpu>gpu>res....is there an effective way to utilize all these same parts but NOT to dump the cpu heat directly into the gpu water block ? a bypass of sorts ?

you dont think i would get slightly lower temps from my gpu if i didnt dump the cpu heat directly into it ?

I'm not a H20 cooling expect, but you could just use a couple of Y splitters so that the cool H20 is sent to both CPU and GPU at the same time and then the warm H20 is sent (at the same time) back to the radiator? Sure, there'll probably be a drop in flow rate, or pressure, or whatever, but perhaps that'll be offset by the decrease in temps? If it isn't, you could just upgrade your pump to something more powerful to offset any flow/pressure decrease?

nope. The heat you are putting into your system will be exactly the same.

Also, CPU and GPU blocks have different flow resistence. One block will end up getting more waterflow than the other. Even if you did get lower GPU temps, that would be at the cost of higher CPU temps.

you could get a small rad, or a passive cooling res. but i doubt its worth the money.

if its a pump with decent head, it wont hurt.

very true, I have seen the affects first hand, once I re-config'd my loop, from a 'dual loop' back to a single, I noticed lower load temps for the CPU and a lower overall temp delta, due to the increased pressure.

*adding another rad, might lower your delta some, but dont expect idle temps to drop. Your adding cooling at the cost of water pressure...not always a good thing. Although if you have really low restriction blocks..it might be advantageous.
