Running outside of the case.

Thread Starter
Hi guys. I was just wondering what precautions to take when running parts outside of the case. My case won't be around until Monday, but I'd like to start the overclocking process while I have time this weekend.

...or should I not take any risks and just wait until Monday?

For me, soda cans. Dust. Fur. Cats (Be very precaution with cats and fans). Mostly it. Put it on top of something that will not attract static.

Just the obvious, drinks, cats and small children, you'll want to keep them away from it.

Would the foam that the mobo was sitting on inside its box be okay?

...or maybe even the mobo box itself?

I THINK the foam that came inside the box on the motherboard should be fine. I never tried it with it on though.

I know for sure that placing it on top of the box or inside is safe.
