Question about upgrading ram.

Hello Overclockers, I have a quick question about upgrading ram.

So the smart person being I was (heh), I checked on cpu-z what type of memory I have. It said that it was a DDR PC3200 (200mhz). So I went to my local Best Buy and bought a PC3200 DDR ram. The question I have is though, the bus speed system on the bottom says (400/333/266). So mine being 200mhz, will the ram not work on my computer? I haven't tested it cause I would want to return it if it isn't.

Well hope you guys understood my question. Thanks!

DDR = Double Data Rate, so the 200MHz you see in CPUZ actually means x2 = 400MHz.

Yes.

It is DDR 200, which is 400 effective.

You should be fine

Ahh I see. Well many thanks, I installed it and works fine.

Hmm though I have seen a bit of an improvement, is there anything more I can do with this memory stick? I see this "performance option," on cpu-z and it says that it is disabled...

Timings..let's see. 3:3:3:8?

I paid a lot for it, sigh. You got it for $20? I really got ripped off then.

I think those are the timings, I'm a real noob at this. Thanks for being patient .
