Well, it depends on what cooling you have... it is rated stock to run at a lower voltage so you may be able to acheive 3ghz at a lower voltage (resulting in less heat) than the 3600+ can. Maybe.

Hmm still Brisbane cores but less wattage. Seems to me they just released almost the same chips with some minor revisions.

It took Tech Report 1.425 for 3ghz, same as my 3600x2.

I've slapped together an old Athlon XP 1.1Ghz computer from parts recently and it got me thinking... I'm considering making my next computer an AMD. It'll be for limited gaming but budget prices will be my main concern with it. $85 sounds nice.

Mine would run stable stock vcore@2.85 board limited, and 1.35v@3ghz isn't unheard of, so it really depends on the chip... I will wait until more of these are in the wild to speculate though. I think if they are at least as good as the 3600's but binned for stability at lower vcore we may see 1.3v 3.0ghz OC's once in a while. Hard to say.

I'm running 2.8 @ stock vcore. There are even some here who have claimed 3.0 on stock, but those seem to be the exception. Guess time will tell how well these OC.

For some reason my 550 doesn't like over 300ht. I tried a friends 3600+ that I know runs 3.0@1.45v stable and I couldn't get it to post any higher than mine did on this board, regardless of memory settings. My 4800+ is doing 2.8 @ stock vcore for a few weeks now and is more stable than my 3600+ was in Oblivion. Orthos ran fine on both though. I need better cooling before I see if my 4800 hits 3ghz or not.

Ya from what I've seen some 550's can only get like 285, and some can get 320+ I just got lucky, I haven't even flashed my bios xD and I can get over 320. I'ts just to hot here to keep it there with my cooling. I cant really tell the difference between 2.8 and 3.1 anyways, so I'm good
