Improve my 3DMark06 score - Page 2

you people are all crazy. i think you're forgetting why we have benchmarks in the first place. it gives us a common ground to compare different hardware/software combinations. it helps us to make intelligent purchases on hardware upgrades in the future. when you treat 3DMark like it's a competition... when you do all these little tricks to improve your own score, it becomes useless as a means of comparison.

i know all overclockers are overly competitive by nature, but come on. this is silly.

before i get flamed, i admit that i'm no different. i just bought a second card for CrossFire, and i honestly can't give an intelligent reason why i did it. i already max all my games out. i think it's possible that we all share a mental disorder.

at least X-Box users can just sit down and enjoy their games. we're all busy beefing up our rigs so they can handle games that haven't even come out yet. oh, the humanity!

Almost a 1000 points shaved off. Ah who cars though the performance in games have been kicking I have done so much to try and inprove but nothing seems to give me that extra boost in points. But that is a great score and nothing to be bummed out about...GTX FTW

I think its more of a hobby, you know? People like the challenge of trying to improve and get the most out of their systems. Add this together with case modding, etc. and you have a very time and money consuming hobby. Totally worth it too.

Tightening the RAM timings will do absolutely nothing for 3dmark06. Maybe a few points in 05...
The only thing you can do is OC the CPU/GPU more or get a better driver.
I beg to differ here, I got 300 more points from tightening my timings in 06.
