I got an XP64 Vista64 Free upgrade wtf

This is superb, I read a few places that MS may give out Vista 64 to XP64 users, But I didn't think this was going to happen for me as I'd had xp64 for ages. also It was the OEM and I got it from FRY's for $80 with a HD.

Anyhow I purchaed a new laptop at xmas, as I was travelling for 3 month and this came with the Vista free upgrade thingy. So I thought when it came time to so the registration for the laptops upgrade I'll do it for the XP64 aswell.

So I just entered the CD-KEY and attached a purchase receipt. I got an email from the company. was it modulus or something about the lappy upgrade and I just figured the XP64 one had just been laughed at. Come mid may I finished travelling and got all my mail sent from tx to my new address and low and behold
along with a express upgrade business for the lappy there was also a OEM Vista 64 business.

Now I'm building the new q66 machine I'm wandering if to use the vista64 or keep my current version of 32bit ultimate.

Ultimate is not all it is cracked up to be, I would much rather use a 64 bit OS just cause of the RAM support if nothing else. Besides that congrats on the free 64 bit upgrade.

Yeah I'll probably do that and keep the Vista 32 on these drives as this machine is to be the new MCE. plus I mainly do photographic work and CAD and thats where the 64bit come's in on it's own.

I'm an aircraft engineer and the software is really up there using the latest and greatest.. although it's certainly not been that way for long.

nice article here if anyone is interested..
