Yeah. I discovered it by accident. But it's very useful for dual booting, and so on. I believe it allows you to change your boot order. Much easier than going to your BIOS.

yea thats what i think too, my last attempt at helping you is to tell you and maybe if you have access to another computer to format your hard drive on another computer-then stick it back in and try again- actually, you know what?, just take all the hard drives out of the computer but leave the CD drive-- now try and boot from a CD- and see what happens.

I actually have tried that. Same Message Hard drives installed or not. New SATA DVD-ROM should be here today finally. I will find out. "Fingers crossed"

I am having the same problems with this controller, allthough mine is picked up intermitently by the bios.

I have also ordered a sata burner and am convinced the jmicron controller on this board is buggy as f*ck!!

It works great now. Disable JMicron and used a SATA DVD drive. Now if I just had another SATA power connector for my second hard drive.

so the JMicron is the IDE controller? hmmm sounds like a POS. what is ASUS trying to do, ween us off IDE, forcibly, by using a crappy controller?
