Now that I think about it if you get a good Motherboard with PCI-Express you could get a cheap card (7300 or something) for her and take her 8600GT.

1.PCI Express yeah.

2.X1950pro

I checked out some feedback on the card and read this.

"Cons: After two weeks it started to crash every 5min. So I tried everything to get it work again but eventually it died out....I was very disappointed. If you're lucky this card will make you Satisfied. But, most likely this card will will fail you."

Normally i wouldnt care about this kind of feedback but as a previous ATI owner I know the feeling and RMAed quite a few their older cards. My 6800 lasted 3 years at least and it died because I really pushed it hard by volt moding it and doing every imaginable thing I could throw at it. Every ATI card i ever owned may have lasted me two weeks tops and that was at normal levels.

3. I just have way too many bills right now but i still need to game so I think its going to be the 7800gs. Im starting to look at the 7900GS. I could get a killer deal on the 7950GT.

Just to let you guys know I was able to get my old 6800 to max graphics out on new games at highest resolutions just before it died. I just wasnt satisified with 30 fps anymore and just pushed it more than it could take.

I ended up getting the XFX7900gs and a good cooler. It was just sent out today so I should see it later in the week.

Well I got my XFX7900gs in the mail today. Im happy to see that the computer booted right up. For some reason though i went to the nvidia site and downloaded the forceware 94.24 drivers but i get an error stating the drivers are incorrect. Im running xp professional 32bit and used driver cleaner also. The drivers on the disk seem to work fine so maybe xfx makes there own specific drivers to run on there cards. I really dont want to try and update over older drivers either but rather do a clean install. Downloading new drivers off the xfx site now. Interesting that they make there own driver and they dont freely distribute them.
