I have a code 2 duo E4300 and ddr2 800mhz ram and my ratio is at 1:2.

Does that mean i can OC my cpu without messing with the ram until it gets to 1:1?

Your RAM's stock Mhz is 400. Remember that DDR = Double Data Rate, and 800 / 2 = 400. So if you want 1:1, at that RAM speed, you need to get 400 FSB. That'd make 400:400 which = 1:1

Your FSB will currently be at 200. 200:400 = 1:2 ratio

Ok wow that would put me at 3.6GHz. I think i need a better fan than stock.

Can i get there on air cooling? If so what is a good fan to go that high?

Umm, maybe! You can try. It all depends on how much voltage you use. The E4300's are known to hit 3 ghz and above so I guess so!

The Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme is about the best affordable aircooler around today!

it has a multi of 10? personally i think 3.0 GHz is a perfectly respectable (and relatively sane) overclock for that processor. go higher at your own risk.

I was able to get and easy O.C. of 3050mhz on stock cooler with a 4300 and an asus P5K. 380x8multi

dont be afraid to drop your multi and I bet you can hit 400 fsb without needing to change your cooling.
