Asus Xonar D2 2nd Look - Page 3

Does it have EAX support? Do we even need EAX? Looks damn cool to me, and besides, I've already vowed never to buy a creative again. That whole vista driver thing just really turned me off to them.

I beleive it has EAX support from what ive heard atleast. I would be surprised if it lacks it though.

I just got my X-fi in April, but this looks like a nice setup.

I am interested to see how the "EM Shield" works out. Thats something that makes sense to me. The bling isn't too much my thing, and even if it was, red isn't the color I would prefer.

Seems like its got a lot going for it, the only problem is that Asus doesn't have the experience that Creative does in manufacturing and supporting audio gear (dont laugh, I know what some of you Creative scoffers are thinking).

It is nice to think that there will be some gaming competition for the audio market.

Still....I hope my X-fi reigns supreme....=)

it'll be interesting if they added an effect that'll cause the port LEDs to flash in accordance to sound, sort of like the sound sensitive lights people put in their cases. anyhow, those light will come in handy around christmas

I totally agree with you JoeUbi and I've been waiting for the Auzentech Prelude too. It was posted a while back if the rest of you didn't get a chance to see it but here's the link to the site:

http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php

Supposed to be released this month after all the drivers are fixed up, and I bet it's gonna be expensive like the Meridian but I'd go with that card over my X-Fi right now cause too much white noise when using the SPDIF with my Spherex system.

It shall be interesting to see how this all pans out... Asus is good with most of the stuff they manufacture. I don't think they'd debut in the sound area with a crappy product.

I like the "head spreader"-esque cover.
