P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe REFUSES to O/C!!!

OK...

After several calls to Asus tech support and two new bios chips ordered from two independent sellers (Asus and eBay), I am absolutely at the end of my rope here. I am attempting to modify the FSB speed for my e4300 in the latest bios (0704) for the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe. I'm using G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) for memory.

The problem is that the readout for the FSB frequency in the bios is permanently stuck at 2745Mhz. Using the +/- keys will not change this value (nevermind saving it and actually trying it). Typing in a value and pressing enter reverts it automatically back to 2745 as well.

After trying the two new bios chips shipped to me to no avail, I called Asus back and reported that there was no success. Tech support directed me to clear the CMOS uninstall the CPU, power up the system for 10 seconds, then reinstall the CPU to see if it was just that the bios was not reading the correct frequency from the CPU.

No luck.

Booted back up to 2745.

The true insult is that the ****ty ai booster utility reads the frequency just fine (but I can't increase the FSB past 210 using that utility without crashing).

I am ready to RMA the board. I have scoured the web for anyone having a similar problem. All I found was this(http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/pa...html#t1495788), and it went nowhere. I figured I'd post around on a few of the more prominent boards before I totally threw in the towel.

It isn't that you suck dude.

It's just that i don't think there is a solution to your problem. And it definitely isn't a common one so not alot of people would know a fix.

Congratulations on being so patient, most of us wouldn't even buy two new bios chips. We would have just RMA'd it ASAP

Honestly, if the FSB is locking like that, send it back pronto!

good luck with the next board.
