Microsoft will let you purchase the 64 bit version for $10 if you already have Vista 32. I just went to the link and followed the directions and it only takes 5 minutes. I've got Vista 32 for now, and Vista 64 (I'll have to upgrade my Wireless Linksys card... no 64 support) will be on hand when I want to change over.

edit: I went with the upgrade disk because it was only $69 since I am a student. The upgrade disk lets you do a full install and places your old files in a folder called windows.old. Just delet the file.

edit: Also, check out this link. There is article titled, "Use Vista's 'upgrade' version to clean-install"
Update: I got my new Vista 64 Home Premium DVD from Microsoft today, and its not an upgrade version! Now when the time is right, I'll upgrade to Vista 64, and it only cost me $10 more!

The Upgrade is just fine. You can use it as a full install anyway. Look at this :

Its perfectly legal : http://vistarewired.com/2007/02/28/p...-upgrade-disc/
