FEAR TDM Map Requests

Thread Starter
I am currently learning how to modify CTF/Control/OtherModesThatAren'tTDM type maps into TDM. With the limited amount of players we have, TDM makes sense, and a lot of really nice maps would be great to have on TDM that simply aren't made for TDM. So, people, post here what maps you want to have modded into TDM maps and I'll try to accommodate.

Currently, I really like SpillKill and DeadWood.

Some instructions for hosters and players, taken from FEAR's SDK Help Section:

As detailed in the previous section, all F.E.A.R. content is packaged as archives that must reside on both the client and the server. The previous section described how to publish content on a server so that it can be automatically downloaded to any connecting clients. This section covers how to publish content for manual download, meaning that any players who wish to connect and play on the server must acquire the download through another method, outside of the game. This may be desirable over automatic download in some cases, such as when you wish to control who has access to the archives, or if the archives are large and you wish to avoid long download times when players connect. In these cases, you can mandate that the client obtains the archives first before they can connect.

The first step is to make sure that the archive does not have the download option set in its archive properties. This will effectively remove it from consideration during automatic content download. This is done using the ArchiveEdit tool, and by deselecting the Download option on the root properties of the archive. For more information, please refer to the ArchiveEdit documentation.

The second step is to install the archive on the server. This is accomplished in the same way as for automatic content download, either by placing the archive in the AdditionalContent directory or by adding it to the server's Default.archcfg file. For more information, please refer to the previous section.

Now that the archive is installed on the server, any players that wish to connect must install the archive on their local client. This is done by placing the archive in the client's additional content directory:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Shared Documents\\Monolith Productions\\FEAR\\Custom\\AdditionalContent

Once the archive is placed in this directory, it will be automatically loaded when the game starts.

It would bode well to read this- It's how you install maps for FEAR Multiplayer.

Good idea!

I have been on a few servers where they have done this. It was a lot of fun to have something different than the usual map...

Maybe Pioneerisloud can do this on his server for us...
