Got a few spare hours

Well it's a terrible day over here rain n all so i got a few hours to blow till tonight and wanted to install linux/unix and was wondering if anybody could give me some ideas i like to surf internet and do the causal gaming and i have plenty of linux compatible games so don't worry bout that, Soo if you could just tell me what you like about it i would gladly use it
