they arent as long as the 8800GTX, which is 1" longer than a standard ATX mobo is wide. which means the 2900 is smaller than the mobo and should fit.

Wait trust me! I've honestly been waiting for a year and a half now to get a new PC and in the process I have saved around £1000 ($2000) now thanks to price drops etc. and my PC will be a ton better. I've only waited as my PC still works though and to be honest it has slightly driven me insane!

That's like his exact same build....
You just changed the case. *which should be changed anyways, no need to spend that much on a case for a mid range build*
Got a more expensive PSU *His original PSU was perfect i think, OCZ makes quality products*
And changed the GPU.

I think you could fit a 8800 GTS 320MB in there man, that would perfectly fit your budget. Or maybe even a 8800 GTS 640mb since you got a widescreen.
Get a cheaper case and spring for a 8800 GTS.
Then your set.
