Possible Conroe Build, Need opinions - Page 4

I like most of waht you have there, but I was under the impression taht the e6xxx intel chips overclocked better then the e6x20 chips. I'm not entirely sure. If you plan to upgrade graphics soon why not use either an older card or a cheap one. The PSU should do nicely. Other then that good luck.

BTW, I would look into using these charts for your purchases. Tom's Hardware goes REALLY in depth when it comes to reviews on hardware.
Here is the average between all of the game tests.

My latest idea is that I will buy the following (or get my parents to pay for most) : case, PSU, HDD, DVD, OS and Monitor

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139002

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116204
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001096

Would the PSU be good enough for possibly 8900gtx sli and stuff like that? I am going to get the rest of the components in august/september when penryn comes out etc

If you can't wait, get maybe a gpu that will hold you over for 2 months. Don't spend a lot of money on something that you know you're going to replace. Just my 2 cents.

I decided to go with
Q6600
2x1GB g.Skill HZ
8800gts 320 mb
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R

I just need to convince the parents which hasn't gone over well since I have been waiting since January of '06
