BTW I always suspected this obsession with 1/2" ID was an American thing--because the orign of LC in Europe began at 1/4" and almost any of the early LC gear is 1/4" with 3/8" as an option.

Many GFX WB from Germany are still plumbed for 1/4-3/8.

We just tend to think here in the States that bigger is better.

I think that there are two main camps of LC thought: High Flow and Low Flow.

Systems can be optimized for either set up. I think poor results are more a matter of putting incompatible elements together than anything else. Although there are some lousy WBs and Rads to contend with.
