A while ago, I bought some SuperTalent ddr2 800, 4-4-3-8..off of the 'egg'. It failed memtest straight outta the packaging, at default specs. So..now I need to get something to replace the kit...I have narrowed to down to 4 possible competitors, but need some help making the final cut.

Here are the contenders:

1: GeIL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
Attachment 52251 4-4-4-4
($81.99 after $25.00 Mail-In Rebate)

2: mushkin eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
Attachment 52252 5-5-4-12
Original Price: $149.99
You Save: $25.00
$124.99

3. OCZ Flex XLC 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Attachment 52253 3-4-4-15
($129.99 after $40.00 Mail-In Rebate)

4. G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Attachment 52254 4-4-4-12
$129.99
------------------------

Tough choices..please help.
*I am looking for the highest speed, lowest latency + the ability to run 1000mhz or better.

Rep + for the most informative 'buy this because..' post. I have until monday the 16th to make my decision.

I'd go either of the G.Skill HZ (The black ones you listed) or the Ballistixs. They both perform similar or the same performance.

Refer to this article: http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/02/...its/index.html

other than the Gskill, the PDP Patriot beats out your other choices, the Corsair is also good.

or just get the ram I have, its basically ddr2 1066 4-4-4-12 for a ddr2 800 price

zipzoomfly cheapest place to buy
$ 131 - $40 mail in rebate = $ 91

see review --> here

I have one of these: --> OCZ-XTC mem cooler blowing on it.

Well, again..the HyperX is not a selection. I picked these modules, for their price and their timings.

So far, the Ballistics are the closest performers for the $$...

and if you recommend something, at least mention why..I am not going to be purchasing anything on a whim.
