AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ OC?

Thread Starter
Ive looked but the bios seems confusing and i was wondering if i can even OC this at all. The bios is IBM BIOS Ver 2NKT25.0. Im running 2.0GHz right now. But i would like to try to get to 2.4. Im running at -48C so im guessing it will be safe. But. A little help would be appreciated.

Best chance you have overclocking is with clockgen. Systems from large manufacturers usually don't overclock.

Is it custom build or bought (like hp dell etc)

if it's from oem builders you problably can't oc.
Other than that 48C does'nt give you much room for ocing.
Is that temp idle or stressed?

Whatever program you are using (probably speedfan judging by your negative reading) is reading the temp incorrectly. Use this program:
http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/
This will monitor each core accurately, using the sensor that is in the die.

Yep. That's almost exactly what I got on mine at stock clocks. I had the same CPU as you OCed to 2.750.
I would find out if your mobo allows OCIng in the BIOS, but if not then I wouldn't mess with clockgen. Not really worth the trouble, considering you can't change the RAM dividers and such.
THat or upgrade your mobo. A good one is the Abit AT8 32X, which is the one I used. I already sold it to someone here
