Vista 64-bit Questions

Thread Starter
I have Home Premium 32-bit and for $10(shipping costs) MS will send me a copy of the 64-bit. Is it worth it, I want my games to support it. CSS,HL2,Insurgency Mod,Sourceforts Mod,F.E.A.R,Doom3,Infernal,FarCry. Also do the Nvidia drivers for my 7800GT work well. I use programs like LimewirePro,iTunes,DVD Shrink,Nero 7 Ultra,VLC Media Player and just wondering if there are problems with any of those.

Half-life 2 and mods I'm not sure about, but the rest should work (tried myself, but I'm sure HL2 would work). I even beleive that FarCry and Infernal are 64 bit programmed.

It would be worth it IMHO, if not just to have on hand.

I have it installed.. and basically all ur old software should work fine. maybe not supported 64 bit.. but should run fine on 32. Your hardware should all be ok, unless you use wireless router.. they can be tricky. I think it's worth it for less mem and cpu usage.. and better performance on supported things, which grow in number all the time.

Well I connect to a wireless router using a wired cable, hoepfully that doesn't make any difference.

I got Vista Business 64 and I got Postal 2 working normally on it and that game is 3 years old.

I play diablo 2 and starcraft on vista x64.

99.9% of games released in the last 5 years work, maybe 5% require slight tweaking to get to work.

I can comfirm that all those games and programs you listed worked in Vista x64.
