atitools query

Thread Starter
have been playing with ati tools, first i found out the maximum speeds.

i've had brought the gpu freq down to 630 from the maximum of 647.
seems stable and running games smooth enough.

is it normal to be getting a lot of blue screens, and blank screens and the system just freezing when trying new gpu freq settings that are below the maximum?

also how long should i leave the artifact scan running for? have been leaving it till the temp levels out, about 5 mins levelling at 70 degrees.

... well... if your system is stable with no OC on your gpu, but crashing for no reason after you OC... I would have to say it is very likely to be your OC... even though I haven't experienced the exact symptoms (but that doesn't mean too much)...

Your best bet (in my opinion) would be to up core speed in 5mhz jumps from stock testing for artifacts after every increase (ok, maybe bigger than 5 in the start but smaller the higher you get)... once you start having problems back down until your stable... now test by also running something like 3DMark 06 (or 05) and look for artifacts and/or system stability issues... once your happy your high enough and also stable enough repeat the exercise with your memory speed... good luck
