I like the way that you tucked that HDD off to the side and oriented perpendicularly. The placement keeps the case looking uncluttered. Quite an achievement considering this was a SFF design.

I took a look at the link for the competition, but I could not find where the entries were listed... do I need to register or something? By now the judging ought to be well underway, if not done.... when do we get to know the results?

I keep missing you on Yahoo , I wanted to see how your next project was rolling along...

Please keep us up to date as you put the finishing touches on your current project.

Keep on building my Modding Brother!

Hey

Cheers for the comments The hard drive could really do with some rubber dampeners, and I think some rubber dampeners for the top to rest on, as it rattles when the hard drive searches. Little things, thats all

The other entries can be found here:

http://www.cpcff.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15547

Yup, new project is slowly being formed in my head, still needs some work but I'll chat it over with you sometime

As for judging - thats going on now, dunno when I'll find out but I'm hoping the comments will be posted up

Hey all

I'm back - been away for the weekend. *Bit* tired.

Anyway, as some of you might have seen I came second in the compo Marcus got first, so thumbs up to him

http://cpcff.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15593

1st = Marcus000 - 125
2nd = Prosser13 - 120
3rd = Johnynoi - 116

So, I get some prizes

That means Kai gets some mini-funky upgrades. I'm going to (try to) sleeve all the wires with the cable tidying kit, its the perfect colour so it'll link in with the front fan grill and while I'm at it I might spray the PSU and remove any excess wires. A general tidy up I guess.

The front fan is currently disabled as it was annoying me, it'll be back in action when my mini Sharkoon fan controller comes...hopefully tomorrow. I'm going to try and hook it up to the back so the knob can be turned through the mesh.

Apart from that, the case is still looking good.

More soon I guess

OK, only a tiny tiny update

Well, two updates really.

First is that I'm getting somewhere towards having a workshop The bike shed has had the bikes moved out and an MDF worktop installed, along with a vice. Need to buy some bits and pieces for it, but then I can start working at home more often - need a jigsaw and files mainly...

Anyway, back to the case. As I said (I think), the silicon I was using to attach the front panel wasn't strong enough. So, I made these up from bits lying around the workshop:

The top two are for the top corners of the panel, and the bottom two are for the bottom corners of the panels What will happen, at the moment at least, the front will drop into the bottom two supports, and then the top two will screw into the top...

It's not ideal, as it means the top can't be hinged, and I'll hopefully find a way around it.

I also need to look into rubber strips to see if I can dampen vibrations without having to use large rubber stoppers...

BTW, a close up of one of the bottom supports:

Oh, and I'm also (seriously) planning on painting these supports with the same red I'm going to use on Hellcat - they'll look great, and the primer will cover up any scratches.

Thoughts?
