Kids need to figure out stuff on there own, its how they learn. I doubt a 9 year old girl will get on a porn site, and if she does her parents should explain and put it into context. Not some program that block it saying "This site contains sex and you cant go to it!"
Reminds me so much of that's southpark episode where the kids get Backstreet Sluts 9 instead of Lord of the Rings.

I know some of you guys don't agree with censorship (and neither do I tbh) but theres a little girl he's worried about whos like 9 (maybe younger) and her even younger brother.

Let's not turn this into a debate, that's the decision he has made as a parent and I repect that and I'm gonna help him.

Thanks for the net nanny suggestion. I'll look into that.

Edit: The computer won't run vista, we're talking about a 1ghz P3 and 256mb of ram here. Plus buying vista just for the parental controls is a expensive IMO.

Apologies to Jessie Jackson

Gnomes

In that order IMO.

Net Nanny looks good, unless anyone knows a free alternative then the problem is solved. Thanks!

Won't happen, once this guy makes up his mind nobody can change it. He only wants it for a year or two though so when shes older she'll get more freedom.

I think we will be judge of just how damaged you really are...

But seriously. When a parent asks advice they are probabaly looking for advice from another parent...or at least someone with a parental POV. As a parent I cannot see eye to eye with you on this topic Murlocke.

Of course actual physical presence and so on is the way to best do anything.

But to say that some 9 year old girl seeing outrageous sex acts is not harmful is simply retarded.

Please, no more discusion of whether it's right to censor the girl in question. It's right that a parent makes whatever decision they think is best for their child and that is the case here whether you agree with it or not.

I'm still open to suggestions for programs but anything else isn't really appropiate in this thread (including south park I'm afraid ).
This is why I made the suggestion in the Suggestiono Forum to have these sorts of OT and Hijacks deleted from serious threads.

You ask where can I find some SW and everyone uses this as a jump of for theeir esteemed POV on the subject including me.

I am PMing a mod to clean your thread and let's start over shall we.
