Penryn is the 45nm Merom.
You want Wolfdale (45nm Conroe) or Yorkfield (45nm Kentsfield).
Penryn is not a mobile chip.

As a recap, Penryn is the 45nm micro-architectural update to Intel's current Core 2 processors.

This board from Gigabyte doesn't really impress me. I think the board to have with either be the Intel DX38BT or the DFI X38 offerings. The main downfall to the DX38BT is that it will be only DDR3.
It was only meant to use DDR3 though, Intel didn't want the X38 being paired with anything else, but other companies opted to use DDR2 instead. It would be better if DDR3 wasn't so new, but thats how it is .

Gigabyte boards are nice. A lot of UV reactive stuff on them, great for people who want to show off their boards.

LOOK AT ALL THOSE CONNECTIONS!
