8600GTS Freezing!? - Page 3

guys I think Ive found the problem.
you all were right it was because of the overtemp. Im happy to find the problem!
But its kinda weird.
when gpu fan works full capacity there is no problem.. when the fan works full capacity max temp is 71-72 and that doesnt cause any problems.
but the fan slows itself automatically..
and when the fan slows down the temperature is rising fast 80+ and thats causing problem.
I tried to lock the fan speed with nTune but it didnt work.
Im setting it to the max. but after a while it automatically slows itself down :/

Im setting it like that and it works like that for a while but as I said after a while it slows itself down :/
Now any ideas how can I lock the fan to the max speed? I want it to work all the time full capacity..
Thank you all

Get rid of Ntune and use Rivatuner.

If you buy and install a new cooler you'll void your warranty, and if the problem is still present. Then yea, no RMA.

so what are saying me to do?
shall I send the card back? or what?

What kind of powersupply do you have? It being a 500Watt means nothing if it's a peice of junk. It could be dying once it goes under extreme load ie: gaming.

Personally yea, I'd RMA. Then hope for better luck with the replacement.
