that might have something to do with it. i don't have an nVidia control panel, so i can't check mine. i do know that Vista does some interesting things with memory management.

btw, i love how Indians speak English. it's so polite.

I think thats the adress memory of the video card not the amount of RAM on the card. (correct me if I'm wrong).

At least thats what another member told me

Don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal. Despite haveing a decent amount of memory on the graphics card itself, your system will dynamically free up a certain amount of main system RAM, but only when necessary. For instance, if you are running a game that requires more memory than that which is available on your graphics card, your main system RAM kicks in. However, when your graphics usage has no need for system RAM, it's available for other uses.

Thanx for the help all....The worry was that while this card was being shipped, i was given a Sparkle 7100 GS 356MB as test card which was showing in its pack itself as 512 MB when RAM is 1GB and 1 GB when RAM is 2 gigs...and i have to admit that it was one of the WORST cards i have ever met in my whole life......so i thought it was coz my RAM too was being used by that card...

Thanx for clearing it up all.....Much appreciated
