You're probably right, but I do plan to get a separate sound card down the line, so I figure that it's more cost-efficient to buy what I want now. Plus, I can almost guarantee that it'll sound better then my old Dell included speakers with integrated audio, so I'll be happy regardless.

Also, I'd probably have to build a shelf or something to put the subwoofer on unless I wanted all bass in one ear and none in the other. I'd like to avoid that hassle too.

I just got the speakers. My first impressions are they are louder then I'd ever need, and have more bass then I'd ever want. I guess the bass could be a little punchier, but maybe that has something to do with my sound card, I don't know. They sound pretty nice to me even with the sound card that came with my motherboard. I don't have a good ear for close scrutinizing, Chipp would know a lot more about how to decipher if these speakers are good relative to others.

I'm glad you're happy with them.

Mine spent 24 hours just sitting in Memphis, so it's looking more and more like they'll get here Friday, and Monday at the latest. As long as they're here by Tuesday, I'll be happy. I go out of town Tuesday night.

I bet you they just weren't scanned to be updated in the system. UPS and Fedex can't update the tracking unless the box actually goes through a facility. That, and Fedex tracking isn't that good.

BTW, I'm liking these speakers more and more. I've been listening to some Spanish guitar instrumentals on Pandora for the last hour, and it sounds great.

Mine just got here. Pre break-in, I'm liking them very much. Treble is articulate and very airy, mids are maybe a bit lower in volume than I'm used to, but certainly of good quality, and bass is very good, and plentiful. These don't use false EQ to try and be a big floorstander or a sub/sat system, but it's not as though I wonder where the bass has gone. Listening to The Fray's She Is, I was incredibly impressed with the soundstage, especially for speakers that are a little over 3 inches wide. I wish the mini-mini IC and the RCA IC for the left speaker where of higher quality, but that's certainly fixable. Armin van Buuren has popped up in the playlist now, and again, I'm very happy with bass performance. Clearly there is not a sub, but they manage to be authoritative with bass. I'm VERY happy with these speakers given the price I paid. You'd never guess that they were refurbished either, not a scratch on them I can see. Kudos to Klipsch.

What's the warranty on these things? The website says one year, but I think the paper that comes in the box says 90 days or something like that?

I've noticed that I'm listening to music the entire time I'm at my computer now. I went downstairs to my old computer yesterday and can really notice the difference with these and my old speakers.

Can someone tell me if this is normal? I'm hearing some faint, annoying fuzzy sound coming from the speakers even when the volume is all the way down.

I don't know what they're called, but they're coming from the metallic circular things at the top of the speakers.

I guess 2.0 just means it has bass built into the speakers? That's probably better for me since I have limited space on my desk.
You don't put a sub on your desk.

Doesn't matter, I wouldn't have room for it. Any answer to my question?

Wait, do you have room to put a sub on the ground? If not, then get a good 2.0 setup.
