Ncaa 08: 360 = 60 Fps | Ps3 = 30 Fps - Page 2

Just because this game runs better does not mean the system is faster or slower.

There are games that the PS3 runs much better than the 360, and games that run on the 360 much better than the PS3. It depends on which console the game was coded for and which one they put more time into.

Its the same thing with PC ports, somethings they have very bad performance.

Most current PS3 games were coded for 360s and ported to the PS3, that is why they run worse.

I am not a fanboy, I own both consoles, but showing that a game runs at 30FPS on the PS3 and 60FPS on the 360 means absolutely nothing.

The Average human eye can see around 60-70 frames per seconds depending on the lighting conditions and a few other things.

Why do people keep quoting this stupid "fact"? it's not anywhere near true, I can tell the differance between 58 and 60 fps.

okay well i learned that in anatomy class they eye can not descern and much past 30frames per second. If im wrong im wrong but either way who cares. Second of all that article doesn give any facts. It just says one runs at 60 one at 30. For all we know the ps3 version could look better. It may not however and the 360 just owns it on this game. Either way its gonna run good and you can get it no mattter what system you own.

Have to say this.

360 FTW

But seriously the PS3 should have easily of been able to render this game at 60fps if the 360 could, maybe this is a sign that the 360 is the developers first choice to a higher ownage percentage.

Whats the point in spending 50/50 time scale of optimization if the ratio between consoles is something like 70/30.
(may not nessicarly be correct, but gets my point across)

Thread Starter
I don't want this thread to go into a flamewar for either console. I own both and love it. But to say the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS cannot be distinguished just boggles me. It's ok to say it doesn't bother you, but to say there is no difference just makes me shake my head.

okay it seemed to me that that article stated that motion blur was why the eye cant distiguish 30frames in like movies and stuff but games are rendered differently? Not sure if i really understood it right but good links.
Also as previously stated this article has no bearing on which console devs want to code for or which console is more powerful. All it says is that one console will have 60frams and one 30frames and it does not say why. Untill i read the reasons why i dont really care. They could say the games code was more optomized for the 360 or perhaps the ps3 has better visuals. Or perhaps they capped it at 30 for a reason. THere could be a lot of reasons for this and since the article doesnt state any lets not jump to conclusions.
