PerlMon - CPU-z like program for linux - Page 20

This project reminds me of PHPsysinfo. It might be cool to borrow a few things from it. For example, regarding lm-sensors, it can detect CPU temps from a base debian install (no additional packages.) Something to look into?

Erm, question. Can you make it display the code name of the processor and the southbridge name just like CPUZ in Windows?

Just a question, thanks!

I think that's under development.

Yes both of those are in the works.
Seems the only way to get the code names is to hard code it in, so it takes time.

I'm already done some more work to PerlMon since release 0.1.3. I've also been working on a road map to 0.2.0 and a general map to 1.0.0!

A lot for stuff currently in the works, just some of it to give up an idea:
-networking info
-CPU code name
-chipset info
-redo the hard drive layout (more info on drives and partitions being added)
-CPU supported instructions
-better GUI layout
-refresh button (or something like this to update stats)
-Number of CPUs and cores

The releases starting at 0.1.4 up to 0.2.0 will be testing releases. Basically testing if some of the tricker stuff like getting chipset info and code names right works for everyone.

Sounds good, I'm looking forward to it.

What license is Perlmon? Can i add it to my version of OCNix?

NVM i stopped being lazy and read the licence, GPL ftw

biatchi, PerlMon exists in the latest version of OCNix already.

dangerousHobo, I modified the PerlMon scripts slightly for OCNix. Basically, currently, if there is no swap, it will give an error and not launch. A simple if case fixes this. (LiveCDs obviously don't have cache.) Secondly, the GUI has a bunch of redundant text: eg "CPU info" should just be "CPU." Just those two mods... However, it is based off of PerlMon 0.1.2 (I didn't see 0.1.3!)

Thanks for the info.
I just tried it on a Ubuntu liveCD but it still ran, but I also was using the current branch. A lot of little code fixes have changed and I remember at some point a divide by zero error was was in the code and was fixed.
Anyway thanks for at least digging through the code and letting me know!

Release 0.1.4

More small fixes on 0.1.0. Now shows CPU support instructions, user id, screens color mode, and a backup way to find mainboard temperature. Also the new arch logo is there but definitely needs replaced.

The next thing already in the works, the long awaited installer. The next release will come after it's finished. (should be soon!)

As always, if you find any bugs please let me know!

Looks really good but temps and voltages don't work for me. Plus terminal shows

Warning: something's wrong at Sensors.pm line 66.
Can't exec "hddtemp": No such file or directory at perlmon line 396.

Temps and voltages are working in conky
